Amjad Hossain Amu, Laxmipur: 42,000 meters of current nets have been seized in the Coast Guard operation in Kamalnagar, Laxmipur, and the mesh was seized in the Meghna river from Monday to Tuesday.
On Tuesday (January 15) at noon in the upazila's Char Jagabandhu Primary School, the essmut was present in the fire. Imtiaz Hossain, Fisheries Officer A. Quddus and Coast Guard Upazila CC Md. Rezaul Karim, Kamalnagar Police Station (OC) Md. Iqbal Hossain, UP Chairman Abul Khatter and others.
Upazila Fisheries Officer A. Quddus said that catching, selling, transporting and storing small hilsa hatchlings in the size of 10 inches from November 1 to June 30 is a crime.
Upazila Coast Guard Officer (CC) Md. Rezaul said that in two days, about 42,000 meters of illegal current nets were seized.
