In Lakshmipur's Kamalnagar, there has been a complaint of cutting trees for the forest department. A village named Solaman is against the police, the village policeman of the 6th andtern of Char Lawrence Unit of the upazila and the son of Ali Hossain of the same area.
Local witnesses said that Solaman cut a coconut tree of the forest department on the side of the road adjacent to Nabiganj Sagar Ali Hossain from Char Lawrence Bazar and saw the tree on the side of the road. He said, "I have not taken permission from the forest department whether he can cut government trees or if he has taken permission from the forest department to cut trees with permission."
Upazila Forest Department official Abdul Qadir said, "The village police have heard the complaint of cutting down the trees of Solaman and sent it to the people. I have been on leave and I am on leave, I will ask him when he returns."
