A heartbreaking incident that happened in Kamalnagar upazila of Laxmipur, the savings of a farmer's life and his life's savings have been destroyed by the fire of miscreants. This tragic incident took place late on Sunday (June 15) at the house of Ward No. 2 of Char Martin Union of the upazila. His 4 cows, 200 ducks and 25 pigeons were killed in the fire.
The affected farmer Mustafa Mita's son Abul Kalam said that they suddenly woke up to a loud noise around one in the morning. The fire is burning with family members but the fire has not been saved, but the innocent animals like cows, ducks and pigeons have died before their eyes.
He added that the price of each of the cows was worth lakhs of rupees, and the ducks and pigeons were also suitable for sale, and their losses are at least 5 lakhs. They are destitute to prevent cow theft, but the whole family is speechless in such a brutal incident.
The locals believe it was a premeditated attack, who could not steal the cows, poured petrol on the cowshed and set it on fire before anyone could understand anything. The incident has come down to the whole village.
Kamalnagar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Tauhidul Islam said that he had heard the incident, but so far no one has filed a written complaint. If a complaint is received, the action will be taken.
This brutal incident is not just a family's loss, it is a reflection of the plight of the rural economy, the tears of farmers, Mustafa, the tears of thousands of marginal farmers in this country, and the conscious residents are demanding a fair investigation of the incident and bring the criminals to justice.
