In Lakshmipur, Kamalnagar upazila has formed a human chain to protest against customer harassment and additional bills.
On Monday (June 22), this morning at 10 am, this human chain was formed in front of Kamalnagar Upazila Complex.
More than two hundred customers of Esmut area participated in this human chain keeping social distance.
Customers said that even after paying the bill, they have made a bill by combining the bill with their current bill and sending it. The customers are suffering. Since March, the customers have made a bill of their own bills instead of making the bill according to the meter bill. Meanwhile, in June, the customers are coming to the house and billing the bill.
It is known that if it is below 75 units, the customer has to pay the bill at the rate of 4 rupees. But when the manga bill is prepared, then the bill is to be paid at the rate of 5.45 rupees from 76-200 units.
Customer Arman Hossain spoke. Sahabuddin Ringkon, Sajjad Hossain Saju, Nazimur Rahman Fahad, Amjad Hossain Bijat, Sihabuddin Rupak, Mehdi Hasan Rakib and others.
The speakers said that the rural electricity associations make their Mangadyat Samil every month, which is causing suffering to the customers, while the customers of Kamalnagar are being victimized in the office of Kamalnagar, which is a single zonal office in Kamalnagar.
At the end of the human chain, the customers presented the memorandum to the upazila executive officer.
