The Bi-Annual Council of the Federation of Bangladesh Journalists (FGBO) was held on Saturday, November 6 at the Bangladesh Press Council Milna.
It was presided over by the chairman of the election management committee SM Zahirul Islam, members of the election management committee Md. Nazrul Islam Chowdhury, Abdul Baten Sarkar and Saitad Omar Farooq were present.
Before the invocation of the councilors was held from 10 am to 1 am. Before that, if 2 out of 3 chemerman candidates supported Lanon HM Ibrahim Bhui, he would be declared the chairman of FBJO unopposed.
In the election, Md. Shamsul Alam won the post of Secretary General in the post of 72 votes. His rival Md Farooq Hossain got 48 votes. Received 1.29 votes, Md. Shafiur Rahman Kazi was elected for the post of Publicity and Publication Secretary, his rival AKM Saeduzzaman 17 votes.
The Executive Council of FBJO has 31 members and the Elected Committee will be in cooperation with the Election Management Committee for the next 7 days. The full committee will be announced in between.
