The incident of the blaze in the FR Taotaar, a multi-storied building in Banani, has reported seven deaths so far, police have reported that at least 28 people were injured in the fire.
The deceased are Parvez Sajjad (47), Amena Itasmin (40), Mamun (36), Abdullah Al Farooq (32), Maksudur (66), Monir (50) and Sri Lankan citizen Niras Chandra.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Banani Police Station Farman Ali confirmed this information to reporters on Thursday afternoon.
The incident of fire has been reported from the control room of Banani police station, Amena died at Apollo Hospital in Apollo Hospital, Niras Chandra died at Kurmitola General Hospital and Mamun, Maksudur and Monir United Hospital, while Abdullah Al Farooq died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
