On the occasion of Eid, two youths were making huge fake notes of 500 rupees to sell in the market. Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-5 was caught in the raid on Sunday (April 9) in the afternoon of making fake money and they were arrested from Bhavaniganj of Bagmara upazila of Rajshahi.
The two arrested youths are Imam Hasan (20) son of Gotal Paar Afzal of Bagmara Upazila of Rajshahi and Shihab Islam (21) son of Surya Pasar Saiful Islam.
This information was informed in a press release signed by Lt. Col. Riz Shahrir, Commander of RAB-5 at night.
According to the notification, a team of RAB-5 Rajshahi CPSC Mollapaja camp conducted a raid in Bhavaniganj market of Bagmara upazila based on Gotenda information. Two youths tried to escape after realizing the presence of RAB. Later, they were arrested with fake notes of 1 lakh 1 thousand 500 rupees.
During the interrogation, they learned that they had tried to throw this fake net in the market on the occasion of Eid. After the interrogation, they were handed over Bagmara police station.
The press release also informed that a case has been filed against them under the Special Powers Act.
