Today, from Saturday (Feb 20) the national vitamin A plus campaign will start across the country. In the campaign, 2.5 million children will be given blue capusol and 1 crore 95 lakh children will be fed red capusol for 12 to 59 months.
Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Malek gave this information in a press conference organized on the occasion of the National Vitamin ‘A’ Plus campaign in the conference room of the Ministry of Health on Sunday (February 19).
The minister said that 6 to 59 months of the country, a total of 2 crore 2 million children will be taken in vitamin A capsules.
Health Minister Zahid Malek said, by taking vitamin-A capsules, children's blindness is prevented, the normal growth of the body is ensured, all types of infant mortality rates are reduced by 24 percent and the mortality rate due to measles, dairyta and pneumonia is significantly reduced. That is why starting from Monday, everyone should be sure that even a child is not left out from taking a vitamin-A capsule.
He added that a large team of Health Ministry will work to take vitamin A capsules, which will be 240,000 health workers and 40,000 health workers will start their careers from Monday.
Vitamin-A capsules will be taken from nearby mobile health centers including all government health centers across the country throughout the day.
However, children should come to the center on a full stomach with this vitamin-A capsule. This is the same as 6 months old, 5 years old and sick children cannot be taken with vitamin A capsules.
