Highlighting the history of the mass uprising of 1969, he said that Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman announced the 6th point of liberation of the Bengali nation from the colonial Pakistani rule, exploitation, oppression, discrimination and deprivation in 1966.
In 1968, the Pakistani ruling group filed a case against Bangabandhu and 35 people including Bangabandhu for the nefarious purpose of destroying the Bengali independence movement. In protest of this case, the nationwide student-labor-farmer-people created a nationwide mass movement of Durbar and spontaneously. The people of Bengal raised their demand for the release of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib.
Sheikh Hasina said the entire January 1969 movement was turbulent and the movements took place every day and the nationwide movement continued. On January 20, 1969, the police opened fire on the road in front of the Dhaka Medical College, which was shot by the police and many others were injured.

He further said that Bangladesh is recognized as an ‘role model of development’ in the world today. After successful implementation of the MDG goals, Bangladesh is taking a strong step towards realizing the goals of the MDGs.
I urged everyone to work unitedly in Sena's Bengali community and said that the collective effort of all, the dream of the father of the nation, will be able to build a golden Bangladesh free from hunger and poverty and a developed and prosperous golden Bangladesh.
