The countdown to the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman has begun. Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina officially inaugurated the Mujib Year in a ceremony held at the capital's old airport on Friday afternoon.
Earlier, the Prime Minister addressed the celebrating celebration of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's birth centenary, said Bangabandhu's daughter Sheikh Hasina, "If Bangabandhu was not born, Bengalis would not have gotten self-identity."
He also said that in 1971, Bengalis were ready for the liberation war on the orders of Bangabandhu and everyone jumped into the war by giving slogans like Bangla, J. Bangabandhu.
