BIWTA has approved another new launch ghat in coastal district Lakshmipur, which is going to be launched. The ghat is going to be opened in Laxmipur's Matabbarhat launch ghat. This approval has been given this week. Before that, a delegation of BIWTA visited the launch ghat in the first week of this month.
On Tuesday (September 17) an official of Chittagong region of BIWTA has received new approval, along with 3 launch ghats in Laxmipur, along with 3 launch ghats in Ramgati Upazila and Majuchaudhurirhat Launch Ghat of Laxmipur Sadar Upazila.
According to BIWTA, after the approval of this launch, the launches operating on Bhola, Barisal and Dhaka routes will have to take route permits for this ghat, then BIWTA will install the ghat and beacon lamps at the ghat.
After the establishment of this ghat, BIWTA has said that there is a new possibility of launching the direct launch in Dhaka-Lakshmipur.
