Dhaka: A young woman named Shahinur Akhtar, who was on fire in the body of Kamalnagar upazila of Laxmipur, died while undergoing treatment in the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College (DMH) Hospital.
Doctors declared him dead at around 11 am on Monday (April 22) at around 11 am. Earlier on Sunday (April 21), he was admitted to the burn unit of DMK, Shahinur was in the meme of Zafar Alam of Sonagazi village in Raujan upazila of Chittagong.
Inspector Bachchu Mita, in-charge of DMK police camp, said that 55 percent of Shahinur's body was covered by the doctors of the burn unit.
The young woman who was under treatment at Lakshmipur Sadar Hospital said that she was identified with Salah Uddin on her mobile phone. After the love affair, the first wife of the first wife, who came to know about the poison, came to Kamalnagar from Chittagong to Kamalnagar. Set my body on fire.
Local UP member Hafiz Ullah and village police Abu Taher said that the locals asked the young woman to come up with the documents of the girl. Later, the young woman set fire to her body in a small field next to Salah Uddin's kerosene in the market and sat in a small room. The women of that area rushed to put water and put out the fire.
She said at the beginning of the incident, the girl said she herself set fire to her body, and after the hospital came, she said her husband had set fire to the scene, the poison was mysterious.
Kamalnagar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC-Investigation) Alamgir Hossain said the girl's bag smelled of kerosene, which seems to have carried kerosene herself, locals say, that she herself has set fire to her own body, but the investigation is ongoing to find out the truth.
