In the Char Martin Unity Parishad (UP) election of Kamalnagar Upazila of Laxmipur, the BNP-backed Cheterman candidate attacked the current chairman Ali Ahmed, the people of Awami League supported candidates.
The attack took place at Darul Uloom Madrasa center on Monday (October 31) around 10:00 am during the polling.
Eyewitnesses said that in the morning, when BNP candidate Ali Ahmed came to the center, his men attacked and beat him in the presence of Aomi League candidate Yusuf Ali.
