Simbakids can use motorcycles to gather news in the 11th national parliamentary elections, but they must use stickers provided by the Election Commission (EC).
EC Assistant Director (Public Relations) Asadul Haque gave this information to the media on Thursday afternoon.
He said, ‘The election commission has lifted the ban imposed on the motorcycles of journalists. The circular will be issued today. But all journalists must use the stickers prescribed by the EC.’
Earlier, the Election Commission issued a policy on December 21. Then various journalists' organizations and intellectuals of the country opposed it, and journalists strongly protested the decision despite meeting with the EC last Tuesday, which has led to the discussion on Wednesday.
