In the upcoming 11th National Assembly elections, the opposition parties have announced that they will not come to the elections due to various demands, including a neutral election government, but in the end, all the parties have submitted their nomination papers.

Bangladesh Aomi League has fielded candidates in 265 seats and Bangladesh Nationalist Party-BNP has fielded candidates in 295 seats while the national party has fielded candidates in 210 seats.

Election Commission (EC) Secretary Helaluddin Ahmad said that 3,67 candidates have filed nomination papers, 2,569 candidates from the parties and 498 candidates have submitted their nomination papers as independent candidates.

On Thursday (November 29), the election management branch has come to know from the field level that all the 39 parties registered in the upcoming 11th parliamentary elections have submitted their nomination papers to contest.

The Election Commission has also taken the issue very seriously. EC officials say that the BNP and its partners did not participate in the January 5 election, but this time all the parties are seeing it as a challenge.

12 parties did not participate in the 10th parliamentary elections. 38 parties in the ninth parliament, 55 in the eighth parliament, 81 in the seventh parliament, 42 in the sixth parliament, 75 in the fifth parliament, 28 in the third parliament, 29 in the second parliament and 14 in the first parliament.

The polling of the 11th national parliament for the 11th December will be held on December 30. The nomination papers will be selected on December 2. Candidature withdrawal on December 9.
