Local businessmen and local residents have formed a human chain to demand justice for those accused of killing Dhaka food with toxic substances mixed with toxic substances, Monir Hossain (45), his pregnant wife Swapna Akhtar (36) and son Naeem Islam (18).
On Sunday (August 30) at noon, the market traders organized the human chain by closing shops in the Akhara market of Bholakot Unit in the upazila.
Meanwhile, as part of the investigation of the case, the police bureau of investigation (PBI) DMP Dhaka South Inspector Kamruzzaman Shikdar went to Dehla village of the village of Bai Ramganj upazila of the deceased Monir, where he spoke to the local residents and collected various information about the case.
Former Chesner Man Abdur Rahim Majumdar, former member Md. Bachchu, brother of the deceased Monir, cousin Zakir Hossain, son Rahatul Islam Bappi and Rahatul Islam Nihan spoke at the human chain.
According to the case and family sources, the deceased Monir Hossain was the son of Cherajul Haque Bepari Bair Abdul Mannan of Dehla village of Bholakot Unit of Upazila. He was living in Saudi Arabia on June 28. On June 28, 2025, he went to Dhaka with his pregnant wife Swapna Akhtar for treatment.
The family claims that after eating at the hotel at night, all three The next day they got sick and got admitted to Ad-Din Hospital the next day. There was a case of Swapna Akhter, Naeem and Naeem died in the afternoon after the doctors, who initially thought they had died due to food poisoning, and on July 1, 2025, the brother of Monir, the brother of the deceased, was lodged by the Dhaka Ramna Thana.
Ruhul Amin, brother of deceased Monir, complained that Rafiq is my brother Bhabhi and nephew. He killed my brother's wealth in a planned manner, and he is now threatening us to get out on bail after arresting the case.
However, although there is a complaint of no progress from the family in the investigation of the case, PBI says that the investigation is ongoing.
Kamruzzaman Shikder, Inspector of Dhaka South of PBI DMP, said that the police arrested a man named Rafiq in the case of the murder of Monir and his wife and son, he was later released on bail. He has been questioned several times for the sake of investigation. We have come to Monir's village to investigate. We also want Monir and his wife and children to be punished.
The locals who participated in the human chain demanded exemplary punishment by bringing the law to the jurisdiction after completing the investigation.
