Chief Whip of Bangladesh National Parliament Md. Nurul Islam said that the government has adopted the plan of the development and the government officials implement that plan. Only if the administration sincerely fulfills the leadership, the desired development of the country is possible.
He said these things while talking to the media workers after the monthly meeting of Barguna District Law and Order Committee today (Thursday).
Barguna-1 Constituency Member of Parliament Md. Oli Ullah and Zilla Parishad Administrator Md. Nazrul Islam Molla were present as the guest of honor.
Chief Whip said, the effective and accountable role of government officials in the implementation of the policy and development plans adopted by the government is very important. He said in the example that the new government of the United States has started activities with 4,000 new officials and at the end of the government's inception, they will be able to do the coordinated activities of the government and the administration.
He further said that the officials should be present at the workplace and ensure the quality of the project.
He also mentioned that the government is giving utmost importance to the economic development by avoiding the politics of division.
In this context, Chief Whip said that Singapore is one of the highest per capita country in the world, which has been able to develop the country quickly because of the national interest, he said that if everyone agrees with the nation's poison, it is possible to solve any problem including energy crisis.
Regarding the development of coastal areas, he said, there is a need for the formation of separate ministry or special development authority for the development of many coastal districts of the country. If anyone works in the area, he will work with him who works next to him in the development of economic zone, tourism industry, deep sea port, fishing and conservation, gas-oil exploration and shipbuilding industry.
The district law and order meeting said that the drug should be prevented at any cost, and in recent times Barguna has directed the administration to take quick and appropriate legal action against a child and also called on the concerned administration to take effective measures to prevent smuggling.
Chief Whip Md. Nurul Islam also said that after taking the durance, the government has implemented hundreds of public welfare programs including farmers card, family card, agricultural loan waiver, payment of imam-mutajin allowance and suspension of NGO loan installments for one year.
Later he inaugurated the Agriculture and Technology Fair-2026 and visited various stalls.
Barguna District Commissioner Tashlima Akhtar presided over the meeting and related government officials and media workers were present.
