The upazila administration conducted a mobile court operation against illegal sand and soil cutting from Manohardi upazila of Narsingdi. On Tuesday (10 March 2026) this operation was conducted at different places of Daulatpur Union of Manohardi Upazila.
The operation was conducted by Manohardi Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Md. Sajib Mita.
According to upazila administration sources, Brahmaputra river and surroundings have been known for a long time The local flow of sand and soil was being extracted from the area and the natural flow of the river was being disrupted and there was a fear of damage to the environment and infrastructure in the riverside area.
Under the Kistivist Aisal Bridge, in front of Rathkhola Bazar and Kocherchar Beltala area conducted the operation. During the operation, a vacuum machine and two trolleys were seized from the river under the Kistivist Aal Bridge under the Kistiv Adal Bridge, but the people who were involved in the presence of the mobile court quickly escaped from the scene and then the seized vech and trolleys will be brought to the upazila council.
Members of the law and order police and Ansar forces were present.
Manohardi Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate. Sajib Mita said that various areas of the upazila, including the Brahmaputra river, will be conducted against illegal sand and soil extraction, and legal action will be taken against those who are involved in such illegal activities.
