Toxic waste of various hospitals and daganistic centers is being dumped near Hajir Hat Model Government Primary School in Kamalnagar Upazila of Laxmipur. In this, the surrounding environment including the school premises has left a strong stench, which is creating a serious health risk for young students and pedestrians.
It has been seen on the ground that the used injection syringes, saline bags, blood-stained cotton, bandages are piled up next to the boundary wall of the school. When it rains, these wastes rot and the smell of rotting becomes more pronounced. Due to the dumping of these wastes, the drain and open jast are being disposed of by the waste of mosquitoes, which are causing the spread of various infectious diseases including dengue.
Locals complain that the students of this populous area are forced to go to the nasal areas in the dark of night or in the morning without scrubbing the policy of private hospitals and public centers in the neighborhood.
Parents“ concern: A few parents expressed their anger and said, ”Do not accept the hospital's sword in this way next to the educational institution. Our children are always I have been sick and there is no solution to the authorities even if the authorities are repeatedly informed.”
According to experts: Clinical waste is much more dangerous in normal mucus, which is more dangerous for hepatitis B, C and various skin diseases, especially children, especially children, and they can be more prone to getting less immune.
Attention to the administration: In this poison, the local conscious circles and the school authorities have sought the urgent intervention of the Department of Environment and the upazila administration. They demanded immediate removal of these dustbins or waste and shift them to certain safe places.
