The Malaysian government has announced that the quota of calling visas for foreign workers will be opened till December 31, according to the information of the country's Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasushan Ismail.
The news was published by almost all the mainstream media in Malaysia.
The Home Minister said that applications for foreign labor recruitment in 13 sub-sectors, including agriculture, gardening and mining sector, will be accepted, including the wholesale service sector. And there are opportunities to employ workers in retail, land stores, security guards, metal and scrap materials, restaurants, laundry, cargo and building cleaning sectors.
He also said that the appointment in the construction sector i.e. construction sector will be limited to government projects only, and the priority will be given to the new investment under the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) in the production sector.
This year's calling visa/foreignment application will be available only in sector wise official agencies. No agent or employer can apply independently as before. After verification of application, it will be approved by the Foreign and Marketing Technical Committee and later the Joint (Joint) Committee.
The Home Minister also knows that the quota of 24 lakh 67 thousand 756 workers is in operation now, which will remain in place till the end of the year (31 December-2025) and then limit the foreign labor recruitment to 10%.
However, the relevant authorities or media of the country did not know how many Bangladeshis can apply.
