In Rasulpur village of Lamchar union of Laxmipur, a widow has been accused of forcibly constructing a road on the land of a widowed woman in the same village, Sohail, Nishad, Masud and Imran Bhuiyan of the Yusuf Ali Bhuiyan house of the same village.
It is known that on Sunday (May 18) morning, the accused tried to build a road on the land purchased by Roshan Ahad, wife of deceased Abdul Ahad, without any permission or legal process. Roshan Ara Begum complained that I am a widowed woman. My children live in exile. I and my daughter-in-law live together. I want to forcefully build a road in our land.”
On the other hand, the accused Imran Hossain claimed that the road was supposed to be built through the 604 Dag land. We tried to reconcile with them, but they did not agree. I was forced to cut down trees and started building roads.
According to local residents, there is tension in the village over land disputes, which has led to conflicts in the past.
The victim Roshan Ara Begum has already filed a written complaint with Ramganj police station, the officer-in-charge (OC) of the police station confirmed the matter. Abul Bashar said, ”I have received complaints. Legal action will be taken after investigation."
