The courts in Barguna have increased the case, which has come to get justice, and the judicial candidates have come to get justice. The judges and lawyers are suffering because of the lack of buildings in the Chief Judicial Magistrate Court, the judges say, the trial process is not being accelerated due to the judge crisis, the crisis of the court and the building crisis.
According to court sources, about 26,000 cases are pending in Barguna, 6 out of 21 judges in the district are vacant, and due to the crisis, two judges use the same session in turn, which has a long-term case.
According to the information of the lawyers, Barguna is more than 2,000 people come to the court every day, but women, children and old people are forced to live in the open field or balcony.
On the ground, it can be seen that there are hundreds of litigants standing in the balcony of the district and session judges in the courtyard. There is no room for moles here. As there is no place to stand on the balcony of the court building, many people are in the open field in front of the court in the hot sun. Kajal Rekha was spoken to a judicial candidate from Mirzaganj in the court, she said, “In 2012, she had not resolved her mother's land case in Betagi in Betagi. She has not yet been resolved. Even after 13 years, she is still not getting justice due to various complications including the judge crisis.”
Barguna District Lawyers Association General Secretary Habibur Rahman said, the tangle of cases is increasing saying that there is no judge, “The complexity of the case is increasing due to the fact that there are no judges in all the courts in Barguna. If the vacancy of the judge is cleared, the judicial system will also be accelerated. We hope that the plight of the people of Barguna will be overcome by issuing judges in vacancies very soon.”
The former public prosecutor of Barguna Women and Children Tribunal demanded the construction of the Chief Judicial Magistrate building. Mostafizur Rahman Babul said, “People who come to the court on rainy days have to stand outside wet in the rain. In the same way, they have to take shelter in this field during the summer. The only demand from the current government is that a building is constructed for the Chief Judicial Magistrate Court here. This will accelerate the judicial system.”
Administrative Officer (Acting) of the Chief Judicial Magistrate Court. Akhtar Hossain said, “Due to the crisis of the Ajlas and the vacancy of the judge, the proceedings of the case are being hampered every day. It is increasing the tangle of cases, besides our official work is also being disrupted. If a new building is built, all our problems will be solved.”
In this regard, Barguna District and Sessions Judge Court Public Prosecutor (PP) Adv. Nurul Amin said, “We have the Chief Judicial Magistrate's Building in the neighboring district but our former public representatives could not do anything for Barguna. Judges and lawyers are suffering because there is no building. We are working together to solve the crisis and accelerate the judicial process. Besides, there is talk of the higher level of the government for the construction of the Chief Judicial Magistrate Court building.”
