Rashtpur Municipality of Laxmipur District has been in severe water crisis for more than a month. Half a million people of 9 OTERARDs in the municipal city are forced to use tube and extravagant water every day or buy mineral oats at an extra cost.
According to the information of Ratpur Municipality, the number of subscribers registered in the municipal area is 25 thousand. Daily water demand 25 lakh liters, but due to low voltage of electricity, only 7.8 lakh liters of water can be supplied per day, which is why most people are relying on alternative sources for water.
Kamrul Islam, super engineer of the municipality, said,
“The water level has dropped a lot due to heat. On the other hand, the power voltage has been between 360-370 instead of 420. It is not possible to run the pump at this voltage.”
