On Wednesday (March 26) at 5:55 am, the President laid wreaths at the altar of the memorial, followed by the Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus offered a wreath.
After laying the wreath, Professor Muhammad Yunus stood there for some time to pay his humble tribute to the memory of the brave martyrs of the great liberation war of 1971.
At this time, a smart team comprising the Bangladesh Army, Navy and Air Force delivered the state salute, and the Chief Advisor signed the visitor book at the memorial premises.
The bugle sounded a tragic tone, a smart team of armed forces handing them a guard of honour.
After the chief advisor, the members of the advisory council and the advisory affairs advisor led by the Bir Shrestha family, the wounded freedom fighters and the brave freedom fighters laid wreaths.
After that, one by one, people from all walks of life including foreign diplomats, various political and social organizations paid tribute to the martyred freedom fighters by placing wreaths at the memorial.
The day will be celebrated in different parts of the world including Bangladesh, apart from the state events, various political parties, social and cultural organizations will hold various programs.
It should be noted that the struggle to establish Bangladesh, which started with the great language movement of 1952, took a full form in 1971. There are various programs taken at the national level to celebrate the day with due dignity.
