128 students of Dhaka University involved in the attack on the agitators from July 15 to August 5 during the July student coup have been expelled.
The decision was taken at the University Syndicate meeting on Monday (March 17) and the matter was confirmed by Assistant Proctor Mohammad Mahbub Kaiser after the meeting.
He also said that 128 people were temporarily expelled by the syndicate member Professor Dr. An inquiry committee headed by Tajmeri S Islam has been formed, which will be taken on the basis of the report of the inquiry committee and final decision will be taken on those involved.
Earlier, last Thursday, Kazi Mahfuzul Islam, convener of the investigation committee and associate professor of the law department of the university, handed over the investigation report to the Vice-Chancellor of the University Professor Niaz Ahmed Khan.
The report also highlighted the involvement of attacks against many former students. The report recommended canceling their academic certificate considering the dimensions.
