Currently in the country BNP Standing Committee member Salahuddin Ahmed said that the violence and oppression of women and children is very alarming. He said, ‘The government must suppress these activities with a strict hand. Otherwise the image of the country will be damaged in the country and abroad.’
On the occasion of International Women's Day on Saturday, she spoke at the program titled ‘Invincible Women's Power’ organized by Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal at Dhaka University's Student-Teacher Center (TSC).
Requesting the interim government and the law enforcement agencies, Salahuddin Ahmed said, ‘You should uncover the mystery of every incident through a fair investigation. Find out if there is any craft-manipulation of the Fascism in this. So that the situation in Bangladesh does not become destabilized in any way, the image of the country is not tarnished in the country; you should control the law and order situation with strict hands.
‘Women were ahead in all democratic struggles, so our party has a promise in 31 points that women will be empowered constitutionally, legally. We will go ahead with increasing women's participation in Parliament.’
