Interim Government's Chief Advisor. Muhammad Yunus urged Sweden to consider investing in social business in Bangladesh instead of granting it as development aid.
He made this call during an interview with Jacob Granit, Director General of the Swedish International Development Cooperation Organization (SIDA) at the Rashtriya Guest House Yamuna on Sunday (February 23).
In the meeting, the chief adviser said, "I would like to call for the investment of social business instead of the grant, which also referred to healthcare as a potential sector for social business investment."
The chief adviser also said that Bangladesh needs the help of Sweden to deal with the energy crisis. Especially in the case of importing hydropower from Nepal because there is a huge amount of unused resources that are ready for export, he said Bangladesh is facing an energy crisis.
Jacob Granit said, there are plans to help them in this important event for the changing geopolitical situation and Bangladesh.
While not much time as an interim government, the chief adviser said that the previous regime had collapsed in Bangladesh during the previous regime, and the interim government was trying to reorganize them in the ‘slices’, the ambassador Wicks, who cited the urgent need to solve the Rohingya crisis and promised Sweden's continued support.
