BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir commented that everyone can see the light of hope in raising Bangladesh.
He said this at the posthumous discussion meeting on the occasion of the posthumous Ekushey Padak of the late journalist Mahfuz Ullah at the National Press Club on Saturday (February 22).
He said, ‘We will make Bangladesh a new place. Everyone is saying this. Everyone's words should be more sincere. In fact, we can all work to create a habitable country for the future generations.’
Mirza Fakhrul said, ‘Today we are optimistic, fascism has changed. In the middle of the movement, the movement has gone through. According to Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury, the political parties of this country have tried, fought, struggled, and finally the collective efforts of the students have become possible.’
BNP Secretary General said, ‘Nowadays many journalists, they don't talk about everyone, they broker their own sugarcane. It didn't go well but still had to say. Bai house, plot all the plots. Mahfuz Ullah had nothing. His family has to reach out to his friends for his treatment.’
Recalling the 2014 election and before the 2018 elections, he said, ‘He did a lot of work in the same way as early journalist Mahfuz Ullah and before the 2018 elections. Mahfuz Ullah, Mahbub Ullah and Zafarullah Bhai had a great effort to unite the parties. Because they were there, it was possible that all the right and the left came together. He was a man who believed in democracy and worked to establish democracy.’
Mirza Fakhrul said, ‘We were mostly involved in revolutionary politics in life, we also gave slogans to eliminate class enemies that day. That was correct, after which the political thinking has changed, we started working together with everyone.’
He further said, ‘We have a lot of work, there are young people who are rethinking the country. Let us never forget the contributions of those who have contributed to beautifying this country. Because it is their work but we are moving forward.’
‘Mahfuz Ullah was a genius. Like his brother-in-law (Mahbub Ullah) who was truly a genius, a genius, and a patriotic person who was honored by the government Ekushey Padak, he was a genius. His main objective was to bring about change in the society.’
BNP standing committee member Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury, Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku, brother Mahbub Ullah of Prat Mahfuz Ullah, interim government press secretary Shafiqul Alam, former secretary Ismail Zabiullah and journalist Golam Mortuza were also present in the discussion meeting.
