Pradeep Kumar Rat, Special Representative: Police have arrested three leaders of Aomi League in Operation Debil Hunt Chali in Rakhtpur, Laxmipur, and they were arrested on Monday (February 10) through a special operation on the night.
The arrested are - the former vice-president of Kerota Uni'awtami League Tashlim Uddin (65), son of deceased Habib Ulyah of North East Kerota village, Saiful Islam Rajim (37). Upazila Sramik League's joint convener Saiful Islam Rajim (37). He is the son of Abdul Mateen of Denatpur area of the municipality and Omar Farooq (38), the leader of the municipality No. 6 and the organizer of the municipality of the city.
According to the police sources, they were arrested in the operation based on secret information, but the exact reason why they were arrested, did not give any details about the poison.
The police have informed that the arrested persons have been involved in attacks, vandalism and looting on the students on August 4 and 5. Legal action will be taken against them. On the other hand, the local Aotami League leaders and activists have expressed a mixed reaction to the incident.
