Election Commissioner (EC) Abdur Rahmanel Machud has said that the Election Commission is only thinking about the national parliamentary elections.
He said this in response to a question from journalists after an exchange of views with election officials in Barisal on Wednesday (January 22).
EC Machud said, "Our main goal is to organize the upcoming national elections in a fair manner and the commission is moving towards it."
In response to another question, he said, "The local government is not, the commission is thinking about the national parliamentary elections first."

The EC said the Election Commission is working to ensure that the upcoming National Assembly elections are not questioned in any way and our commission is committed to give fair votes to the people.
The discussion meeting was held in the morning at the office of the Barisal Regional Election Officer on the occasion of the Voter List Update Program 2025. Senior election officials of Barisal district participated in it.
Election Commissioner Abdur Rahmanel Machud gave various directions to the officials of the field level to complete the correct voter list updating process. He has called everyone with proper information along with the cancellation subject to proof if there is a Bhuta voter.
