Rangpur Riders have won their first match in Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) and Nurul Hasan Sohan's team has lost Dhaka Capital by 40 runs.
On Monday (December 30) Rangpur won the toss and sent Rangpur to bat. Rangpur's captain Thisara Perera got off to a good start. But the bats of Saif Hasan, Khushdil Shah and Iftikhar Ahmed collected 191 runs in the scheduled 20 overs.
Saif scored 43 off 33 balls, Iftikhar scored 49 off 38 balls and Khushdil scored 46 off 23 balls while Alauddin Babu took 3 wickets for Dhaka.
Batting on a target of 192 runs, two openers of Dhaka, Liton Das and Tanjid Hasan Tamim, gave the team a good start. These two batters, Tanjid Tamim, were dismissed for 30 runs off 21 balls.
After that, Dhaka's batting line collapsed in Dhaka's batting line. 75 more wickets lost in 75 runs and were knocked out of the match. Habibur Rahman Sohan 6, Liton 30 and Farmanullah 1 run and went back to Sajghar.
After that, Dhaka started losing wickets in the break. Thesara 17 balls in Perera and 18 runs from Mukidul Islam 11 balls only reduced the loss of 151 runs in 20 overs.
