In Barguna, a memorial service was held in the memory of the injured and martyrs of the mass uprising of the students in July-August 2024.
The memorial meeting was held at the District Art Academy on Saturday morning organized by Barguna District Administration.
Barguna Civil Surgeon Dr. Barguna Deputy Commissioner Md. Shafiul Alam was present as the chief guest under the chairmanship of Pradeep Kumar Mandal.
Barguna Superintendent of Police Md Ibrahim Khalil was also present as a special guest in the memorial meeting. And the contingent commander of Barguna Md. Shahidul Islam, the agitators who were injured in the July Revolution, were speaking at the memorial service, while members of the Shahid family spoke.
Senior leaders of various political parties also addressed the memorial meeting, while highlighting the horrors of the fascist Awami League government's repression and the horror of indiscriminate firing on the protestors, he demanded state cooperation in the treatment of the injured and the families of the victims. In addition, 10,000 taka was given to the families of Barguna, who were killed in the July Revolution, and the injured to participate in the commemoration were given 1000 taka for the travel allowance of the injured to participate in the commemoration meeting.
