The High Court has ordered to stop the movement of battery operated rickshaws within three days in Dhaka metropolitan area.
The High Court bench of Justices Fatema Najib and Justice Mahmudur Raji passed the order on Tuesday (November 19).
At the same time, the court issued a ruling to ask why the innocence of the defendants in the ban on battery operated rickshaws should not be declared illegal, while Sanjid Siddiqui and Tahsina Mrid heard in the court.
At present, the capital is currently running on a total of 1.2 million rickshaws, which is a battery-powered part of which is being made mechanical for many rickshaws with old pedals.

Maniknagar, Khilgaon, Manda, Basabo, Rampura, Badda, Saedabad, Jatrabai, Kadmatoli, Sabuj Bagh, Shyampur, Demra, Uttara, Bhatara, Dakshinkhan, Uttarkhan, Manartek, Mirpur, Pallavi, Mohammadpur, Bachila are more battery-powered rickshaws in the capital.
Due to the traffic of this rickshaw, there are accidents that are causing accidents, many are injured, and the deaths of the two city corporations have been conducted by the two city corporations, but the violence of these illegal vehicles has not stopped.
