After the five-day holiday of the holy Eid-ul-Azha, the government offices and courts are opening from Wednesday (June 19) and the banking, insurance, and private institutions will also open from today (June 19).
The new schedule will run from 9 am to 5 pm and the bank will start trading at 10 am and will continue till 4 pm, but the bank office will be open from 10 am to 6 pm.
Earlier, in the cabinet meeting on June 3, the new office schedule was fixed for all government, semi-government, autonomous and semi-autonomous institutions in the country. The cabinet decided that the new office schedule will be effective from the first working day after the Eid holidays.
On that day, Cabinet Secretary Mahbub Hossain told reporters that the office will be closed from 9 am to 5 pm on Sunday to Thursday, Friday and Saturday, between 1 pm and Thursday from 1 pm to 1 pm.
Last Monday (June 17), the holy Eid-ul-Azha was celebrated across the country. Before Eid, June 13 was the last working day of government officials and employees, which started on June 14, and the Eid occasion was a public holiday on 16, 17 and 18 June (Sunday, Monday and Tuesday).
