The Election Commission (EC) has canceled the candidature of Jamalpur Sarishabadi Upazila Chairman candidate Rafiqul Islam on the charge of violating the code of conduct. The organization has canceled the candidature of the first candidate in the sixth upazila parishad election.

According to the schedule announced by the EC, the first phase of the sixth upazila parishad election will be held on May 8. The second phase will be 160 upazila votes on May 21, the third phase will be held on May 29 and the fourth phase will be held on June 6.
In the first phase of polling, 22, second phase 24, 21 in the third phase and 2 upazilas in the fourth phase will be used in Electronic Voting Machine (EVM).
