Pradeep Kumar Rat, Special Representative: On December 22, the 59th death anniversary of revolutionary journalist Mohiuddin Ahmad, he died at his residence in Patalgacha Chowdhury Bair of Comilla district on this day in 1964.
In the life of a journalist and writer for 27 years, Mohiuddin Ahmad was the editor of the defunct Dainik Insaf, Dainik Amar Desh, Half Weekly Navnur, Weekly Jehad, Pakshik Moshalman, Monthly Shatadal and Monthly Tarun Patrika.
Also, he was associated with Daily Krüsk, Daily Pratya, Dainik Navaug, Daily Zindagi, Daily Millat and Daily Chashi for the post of Joint and News Editor.
In the 1940s, this revolutionary was better known as ‘Kalpurush’ for his writings, especially as a sub-editor and columnist.
Although he was a zamindar by birth, Mohiuddin Ahmad's revolutionary movement was auctioned off.
After 1947, he was severely criticized for the Pakistan regime, and the declaration of his newspaper “Dainik Insaf” was canceled and several books including his Bangshal printing press were canceled.
ABM Musa used to say that in just 19 years, he entered the world of journalism through the newspaper ‘Dainik Insaf’ edited by Mohiuddin Ahmad and that newspaper has started modernity in the Bengali newspaper of this country.
Among Mohiuddin Ahmad's books, the best poetry books were ‘Swapnarekha’ and ‘Vyathar Gan’. Novel- ‘Madhukrak’. ‘Vajrashakti’ literature series and ‘Sabjanta’ Kishore Sahitya series 50 books. Also, he wrote in the translation of ‘Racht Chapman Anduz‘ - ’Sekal Ajab Janata' series.
