The International Anti-Corruption Day has been celebrated in various events in Bhola's Tajumuddin, with the theme ’We are united against corruption for the purpose of development, peace and security.
On Saturday (December 9) morning, a rally, human chain and discussion meeting was held on the occasion of the day in Tajumuddin Upazila Administration and Upazila Corruption Prevention Committee.
Later, in the hall room of the Upazila Nirbahi Officer, under the chairmanship of Upazila Corruption Prevention Committee President Rafiqul Islam Sadi and General Secretary Gazi Abdul Jalil, the discussion meeting was held as the chief guest, Upazila Executive Officer Mr. Shubo Debnath.
The discussion meeting was special guest, Tajumuddin police station officer in charge Maksudur Rahman Murad, former president of Tajumuddin Upazila Corruption Prevention Committee Bir Muktijoddha Engineer (retd.). Md. Yusuf, Upazila Project Implementation Officer Md. Salim Mita, Women's Bishtak Officer Ramendranath Biswas, Admin (HR) of Rural Service Organization Tarun Kumar Das, Monitoring Officer Naeem Hossain, BMSF Tajumuddin Upazila Branch General Secretary Abul Mannan Tamim, Corruption Prevention Committee leaders and other officials and journalists of print electronic media participated in the discussion meeting and human chain.
The speakers said that a well-governed democratic Bangladesh is in the country There is no alternative to establishing the rule of law and accountable government, so all democratic institutions, especially law enforcement agencies, administration, judicial process, election commission and human rights commission should be kept intact, while the media and the people of the country should be accountable for free expression.
