In recognition of his glorious role in the country, the Begum Roketa Medal-2023 is being awarded to five prominent women of the country. State Minister for Women and Children Bishtak Fazilatun Nesa Indira gave this information at a press conference at the Secretariat on Thursday (December 7).
He said that on the occasion of the celebration of Begum Roketa Day and the awarding of Begum Roketa Medal on Saturday (December 9) will be held at Osmani Smriti Milnattan, which will be the chief guest and will be given a medal to five prominent women.
This time, the Rokeya Medal in Women's Education is being awarded to Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology - Khaleda Ekram (posthumously) Dr. Halida Hanum Akhtar, Women's Socio-Economics, for the Establishment of Women's Rights. Kamrunnessa Ashraf Dina (posthumous) in development.
Nishat Majumdar, the Everest winner and Ranita Bala Rokeya, are receiving medals in rural development.
It was informed in the press conference that each medalist will be given a medal of 25 grams of gold in 18 carats, a medal of medals, a replica of a medal, a check and a certificate of Tk 4 lakh.
