The strong cyclone is on the Chittagong-Cox's Bazar coast in the power of Hamun, which will completely cross the coast for the next 10 hours from Qutubdi.
On Tuesday (October 24) night weatherist Md. Monotar Hossain gave such information.
He said the cyclone would begin to rise to the coast after evening, which would bring the wind speed down to 90 km in the center of the power hurry. It will rise completely to the ground in the next 10 hours.
In Bulletin No. 13 of Cyclone, the Directorate of Meteorology, the cyclone of Hamun, which is located in the north-west Bay of Bengal and adjoining North-East Bay of Bengal, is moving from east to north-east. It is located in the northeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas as a cyclone.
It was located 160 km southwest of Chittagong seaport at 6 pm, 120 km southwest of Cox's Bazar seaport, 225 km southeast of Mongla seaport and 135 km southeast of Payra seaport.
The cyclone has begun crossing the coast, which may move northeastwards and cross the Chittagong-Cox's Bazar coast in the next 8 to 10 hours near Kutubdia.
The maximum wind speed of 62 km/h in the cyclone center is 62 km/h, which is 88 km/h, the sea is very rough in the area near the center of the cyclone.
Chittagong and Cox's Bazar seaports have been asked to show danger signal number 7 (seven). Mongla and Payra seaports have been asked to show danger signal number 5 (five). Coastal districts Chittagong, Cox's Bazar, Feni, Noakhali, Laxmipur and their outer islands and chars will be covered by the danger signal number 7 (seven).
Due to the influence of Cyclone Hamun, the coastal districts of Chittagong, Cox's Bazar, Noakhali, Laxmipur, Feni, Barguna, Patuakhali, Bhola, Barisal, Pirojpur, Jhalkathi and their low-lying islands and chars may be flooded with wind blowing tides 3 to 5 feet higher than normal tides.
The cyclone may cause heavy to very heavy rainfall in Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions. Due to heavy rainfall, landslides may occur in the Pahaji regions of Cox's Bazar, Bandarban, Rangamati and Chittagong. Fishing boats and trawlers in North Bay of Bengal have been asked to stay in safe shelter until further orders.
