At least 20 people have been killed in a rift between a passenger and a freight train at Bhairab Junction in Kishoreganj.
Many have been injured.
The accident took place in Gainhati area near Bhairab Junction on Monday (October 23) around 3 pm.
Kishoreganj Railway Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) AKM Aminul Haque informed BanglaNews about the accident.
Dhaka Fatter Service Headquarters learned that eight units of fire service went to the spot and started rescue operations immediately after the accident.
So far 15 bodies have been recovered.
Rozina Akhter, duty officer of fire service headquarters, told Banglanews that eight units of the rear service were sent to the spot as soon as the news of the clash between the two trains was received.
