General Secretary of Awami League and Minister of Transport and Bridges Obatadul Quader said that it is good for us to have good relations with India.
He said this while interacting with journalists at the conference room of the Secretariat and General Department of the Secretariat on Thursday (October 5).
Obatadul Quader said, "We have tried our best friendship with Delhi. This relationship is ours since 1971. Delhi needs us in strategic policy, we need Delhi too. In between 21 years of relationship deterioration was not good for any of us, especially India is a big country.They have not as much damage as we have suffered. If they had a good relationship with us, we would have had a lot of good. For example, now Bangladesh has increased manifold.
"It is good for us to have good relations with India, but it is not that I will make a bad relationship with others. It is clear how much we will benefit from if we have a good relationship with India in the last few years. It means that we will hostile against others. If we are hostile to the adversary today, we are becoming a member of the nuclear club.
He said, then on the 23rd, our metro rail is going to be inaugurated from Agargaon to Motijheel. It is also with the cooperation of Japan and they have financial support here. Then in Chittagong, we have another mega project under the river, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Tunnel, here too, China has cooperation and help. So our policy is that friendship with everyone is not enmity with anyone.
