The government has decided to buy 191,000 metric tons of fertilizer from Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Canada and Kafco, which will result in a cost of 729 crore 83 lakh 62 thousand 500 taka.
On Wednesday (September 20), the meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Government Crete was held under the chairmanship of Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal. After the meeting, Additional Secretary of the Cabinet Division, Saeed Mahbub Khan, announced the decision of the meeting.
He said, 30,000 metric tons of Urita from Saudi Arabia, 30,000 tons of TSP from Morocco and 100,000 tons of murate of potash (MOP) from Canada will be bought from Kafco, and 30,000 tons of UNITA will be purchased from the domestic company Kafco.
Additional Secretary said, Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation (BCIC) under the Ministry of Industries has approved the import of 30 thousand metric tons of bulk granular ureter from Saudi Arabia's Sabik Agri-Nutrients Company under the Ministry of Industries.
On the other hand, Saeed Mahmud Khan said in the poison of buying fertilizer from Morocco and Canada, through the Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation (BADC), under the Ministry of Agriculture, the 30 thousand metric tons of TSP fertilizer has been approved to be imported from the OCP SA to the eighth lot from the OCP SA.
On the other hand, through BADC, the state level agreement has been approved to import a total of one lakh tons of murate-of-potash (MOP) fertilizers from the Canadian Commercial Corporation in the 15th and 16th lot in the 15th lot and 360.52 million 50 thousand taka.
