Sreepur Upazila Health Complex in Gazipur is an ambulance with a life support facility worth Tk 1 crore in the 50-bed hospital garage. It is now a negligence and neglect.
The unscrupulous patients who are not able to take life-supported ambulance services for more than two years in a row without a driver have been able to get the hospital authorities not providing ambulance services, thousands of people in the industrially dominated Sripur upazila have expressed their anger.
The upazila residents complain that the government ambulance service is closed and the patients who come to the hospital are forced to take the private ambulance to take care of the better treatment.
Meanwhile, the government ambulance service is closed, private ambulance owners create syndicates and take extra charges by taking the relatives of the sick patients as hostages. The extreme will of the private ambulance owners and drivers is unhealthy.
