Staff Reporter: Miscreants hacked to death another temple in Jhenaidah in less than a month.
In the morning, three miscreants came on a motorcycle while picking flowers from the temple and cut off the Sevak or servant Shyamananda Das of the temple named Sri Sri Radhamadan Gopal Vigraha Math.
The incident happened around 5:30 am on Friday, police said. The police said that the attacks that took place on the recent attacks on minority religious people are similar to this.
On June 7, another Hindu priest named Anand Gopal Ganguly was hacked to death in this Jhenaidah.
Jhenaidah Additional Superintendent of Police Azgar Ali Sheikh said that around 5:30 am, Sevayat Shyamananda Das was picking flowers in front of the temple located in North Kash Sagara village, on the side of the Dhaka-Khulna highway, when three miscreants came and cut him with a sharp weapon.
He was taken to a local hospital but the doctor declared him dead.
Jhenaidah Hasan Hafizur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Sadar police station, said that Shyamananda Das came as a temple service and later went to another temple, thus he had been visiting this temple for a long time and he came to this temple from Jessore last Thursday.
Police have not yet received information about the family or relatives of homeless Shyamananda Das.
According to sources, this attack is similar to the recent attacks on minority religious people.
Shyamananda Das started his duties as a service of this temple four years ago.
In the past few years, there have been about half a hundred cases of people being hacked to death or injured with sharp weapons on the same way on the members of the minority religious community.
