He said this in the speech of the chief guest at the inauguration ceremony of ‘Bangladesh Startup Summit 2023’ on Saturday (July 29) morning. This two-day summit is being held for the first time at Hotel Intercontinental in the capital.
Referring to the 35th largest economy in the world, the Prime Minister said that Bangladesh is the 20th largest economy in 2037. will become. And by 2040, a trillion dollar economy country He urged the country's startups to come forward in the development of the nation.
Sheikh Hasina said that in 2009, the Awami League government has implemented all the initiatives to make the country digital. So, instead of looking after the job, the youth should become an entrepreneur. If the goal is fixed and confident, all obstacles can be achieved.
The Prime Minister also said that the innovative entrepreneurs based on information technology are the startups who are making significant contributions to the socio-economic development of the country using their talent, knowledge, creativity and experience. Today, about 500 startups are participating in this summit, including 300 women startups, who are also present here and the participants of the startup ecosystem.
The two-day summit is being held by the initiative of the venture capital firm Startup Bangladesh Limited, Government of Bangladesh Government, and the participants will get the opportunity to present their innovative business plans in addition to establishing contact with local and foreign investors.
