In Rajshahi's Durgapur upazila, the cousin has died after drowning.
The accident took place in the upazila square pond on Friday (July 14) morning. The victims are - Hira Khatun (24) of Ershad Ali of Rajshahi's Durgapur Upazila Sadar and his niece Megha Khatun (8). Locals said that on Friday (June 14) morning, Megha fell while washing her hands in the pond.
When he tried to save him, his brother-in-law Hira Khatun also fell, drowning in the pond, and later, with the help of locals, around 11:00 pm Police recovered the body, Durgapur police officer-in-charge (OC) Nazmul Haque said two people died after drowning.
