Narsingdi's Shibpur Upazila Cheaterman and former president of Upazila Aomi League, Birmuktijoddha Harun Or Rashid Khan (75) has completed the funeral prayers.
This funeral prayer was held in the field in front of Majlishpur village of Bad Johar Shibpur upazila on Thursday (June 1).
He was honored by the police and the administration as a warrior of freedom fighters.
After the funeral, his body was buried in the morgue of Narsingdi Sadar Hospital, the family members said that he will be buried in the family cemetery after the funeral. Ananotarul Ashraf Khan Dilip, nephew Fazle Rabbi Khan, son Md Aminur Rashid Khan Tapas spoke. Esmt son Tapas demanded justice for the murder of his father Harun Or Rashid Khan, otherwise he said that he would approach the Prime Minister, he also demanded that the prosecutors of the case be brought to justice.
1,000 people from different professions including District Commissioner, Superintendent of Police, former and current members of Parliament, various upazila parishad chairman, district and upazila Awtami League, leaders and workers of various affiliated organizations participated in his funeral prayers.
On the morning of February 25, the upazila chairman Harun Or Rashid Khan was injured in the shooting of the miscreants in the market of Shibpur upazila Sadar, and he was admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital after receiving first aid at Shibpur Upazila Health Complex. After one month on April 13, he was admitted to a hospital in Delhi, India for better treatment After his surgery there, he will come to the country on May 1.
Then on May 7, when his physical condition deteriorated, he was admitted to Everketter Hospital in the capital Harun Or Rashid Khan died on Wednesday afternoon while he was not in the ICU on the night of May 19.
Two days after the incident, Md. Aminur Rashid Khan, son of Upazila Chetterman, filed a case in Shivpur Thana, Shibpur Thana, which made 6 people named as the main accused and 10/12 unknown people were named as the main accused and 10/12 unknown people were arrested in the case. Among the 164 clauses, one of the 164 statements in the court, said the police, who is in the court, said that 4 people, including the main accused, are staying in Dubai.
