Two children died after bathing in Rajshahi, and the incident took place in the pond adjacent to the Hetemkhan Gorasthan in the city on Tuesday (May 30) at 11:00 am.
The deceased children are - Anant (6) son of Govinda of Hetemkhan Chhota Masjid area of Boalia police station of the city and Nirean's son Nirean (9) of the same area.
Bosalita Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Sohraradi Hossain confirmed this information and said that the children drowned in the water at around 11:00 a.m. in the pond adjacent to Hetemkhan Cemetery.
Later, the locals rescued one dead and one was in critical condition, when the injured child was taken to the emergency department of Rajshahi Medical College (Ramek) Hospital, the doctor on duty declared him dead.
The OC also said that a case of wrongful death case is being prepared in the police station and the bodies will be handed over to the family after the legal process.
