Today at 11 o'clock Bangabhaban's historic Durbar Hall, the Speaker of the National Parliament. Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury administered the oath to him.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina attended the swearing-in ceremony, several guests including cabinet members and the program were conducted by the Cabinet Secretary Md. Mahbub Hossain.

21st President Md. Abdul Hamid was replaced by a brave freedom fighter and field politician Md. Sahabuddin 13 February 73 years old. A notification was issued announcing Sahabuddin as the President.
