According to the National Online Media Policy, IP TV will not be able to provide news.
In a notification issued by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting on Monday, this instruction was given.
The notification states that Article 4.3 of the National Online Media Policy 2017 (Amended 2020) Accordingly IP TVs cannot broadcast any news. It is observed that some registered/unregistered IP TVs are broadcasting news in violation of this policy.‘
‘In this context, IP TVs that violate the National Online Media Policy 2017 (Amended 2020) have been requested to refrain from news broadcasting activities.
Otherwise appropriate legal action will be taken.’
